I believe that all Congregation in supporting to let Women give us our Liturgy, Sermons, and the Holy Sacrament in our Lutheran Church’s in Australia & New Zealand as it would help this Congregation in Hawke’s Bay in the future years to come.
As the Lutheran Church in Australia & New Zealand to me and I think many of you think too are still in the dark ages over this matter today, the LCNZ has this Eucharistic Hospitality arrangement with the Anglican Church and (I think that it is in Australia too?) does this mean that the LCNZ does not mind that Lutheran’s can have the Holy Sacrament from a woman please do tell me that I have got that right or NOT, as we in Hawke’s Bay receive the Holy Sacrament from women of the other 3 denominations that we worship with.
It’s like if there is a brick wall we have knocked down the brick wall just a little too let woman to do the Liturgy and Sermon’s from downloading them from LCA web site and read them to us at our Church Worship Services, but on the other side of this brick wall there is thick steel wall and in the middle of that steel wall there is a thicker steel door with a lock in the middle of the door, but we can not find the key to unlock this steel door. Will we ever find that old rusty key to unlock that door? To me we are still in the dark ages of the 16th Century!
As it is 2015 not the 16th Century, have we not got any vision at all to reform in this day and age after all it is the 21st Century, then please do tell me why the LCA & the LCNZ still have their heads in the sand. Come on Church Leaders, Lutheran Members, and People that are here at this Synod, isn’t this the 21st Century.
In Germany and United States of America there are Women Pastor’s of the Lutheran Church so why not here in Gods own country New Zealand. Last week on TV the Church of England (January 2015) had their first Women Bishop Ordination and only one man spoke up against her to be ordained in the Church. I believe that we are losing members just because we Lutheran’s do not realise woman rights in today’s Church family.
I know that there are women in other Congregation’s within New Zealand that are willing and have the experience to qualify to be SMP that I have heard of, so come on lets make it happen and very soon please! Women’s Ministry in our Church, we must all go forward in this marvellous journey.
A Woman of God is so blessed always helping, always giving. Never thinking it is too much to give time to those needing help. Clothed in God’s Love, splashed with His peace, Girded with God’s grace and sharing it will never cease. Having these gifts knowing God’s heart makes you truly a Woman of God! God has truly blessed you woman in so many ways and you in turn have blessed those around you. May God continually surround you with His Grace and Peace.
Where Love comes to Life in Sunny Hawke’s Bay.

I am trying to understand your frustration when you need more help. Women , of course, are just as intelligent as men, and probably just as capable of preaching good sermons. However, God has made men and women different, and He knew what He was doing, and why. When Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper, He did not include women to even be there as witnesses (though He loved them all). He kept his mother at arms length (yet remembered her with love from the cross). He chose only male apostles, giving them the power to even forgive sins. God knows what we do not know , and we must, in love and obedience to Him, put aside our natural ‘but I think..’ attitude, and leave His clearly written words unchallenged. If we start chopping and changing the Word now, what will come next?
